  • Review for the Divi 4 version of Identity
    I highly recommend this theme.
    Building a website for myself wasn’t the easiest task (writing about myself only) but this made it easier with the suggestions for each section. Obviously using Divi is about the visuals but it’s all about the visual while creating too which is important to me -- this is so sleek and seamless I wanted to continue building it. I had planned on building the light page too, and will likely do so later, but decided to stick with the dark only. Had I been prepared with what I wanted to do and context, this would have taken less than a day to get up and running. Thanks Ania for such a beautiful design.
  • Review for the Divi 4 version of Identity
    When I decided to rebrand my book coaching business, I wanted a clean single page site with maybe a few add on pages down the road.
    I wanted to get it up quickly so I could get into this new fresh brand right away. The Identity child theme was EXACTLY what I was looking for to build my new book coaching website. I love that it has the option for a dark version and a light version, as the two sides of who I am are light and dark (I write horror and coach most genres). Since I have taught myself how to build WordPress websites using Divi’s builder and online tutorials, I felt confident I could get it set up. But when I ran into trouble, I felt lost. Yes! Identity is a child theme for Divi, so you'll need a Divi license from Elegant Themes to use it. The Divi theme is not included with your Identity purchase.

If you don't own Divi yet, you can purchase it directly from Elegant Themes.

Does Identity work with Divi 4 and Divi 5?

Yes! Identity 2.0 supports both Divi 4 and Divi 5.

The brand-new demo is built natively for Divi 5, with Global Variables, Presets, Flexbox, and CSS Grid.

If you're starting a new website, we recommend using Divi 5 to take full advantage of the updated designs and features.

I already use Identity on Divi 4. Can I update safely?

Absolutely! Identity 2.0 maintains backward compatibility with existing Identity websites.

You can update the child theme without replacing your layouts or changing your website's appearance. Identity automatically loads the appropriate styles and functionality for your existing installation.

Can I migrate my existing Identity website to Divi 5?

Yes! Identity 2.0 includes compatibility fixes for websites migrated from Divi 4 to Divi 5.

Your existing layouts will remain in place after migration. They won't automatically be replaced with the new Divi 5 demo designs.

We recommend creating a backup and testing the migration on a staging website first.

How do I install Identity?

Identity comes with a one-click demo importer that sets up your pages, portfolio projects, blog posts, Divi Library layouts, Theme Builder templates, and global design settings.
